Katie - She found a forever home!

In August, 2013, Katie was picked up off the street by a Good Samaritan.  She was promptly posted on Craig’s List “Found, white fluffy dog”.  Club member Cindy Geotz saw the posting and notified club members Nancy & Terry Glenn.  They went right over & brought the little girl home.  She wasn’t scared or anything; just went with the flow.  The Good Samaritan had named her “Sheeba”, but she was quickly renamed to “Katie”.  It just seemed to fit.  At her wellness exam, she was found to be in need of a dental.  Turns out, they had to pull 21 teeth.  But, that didn’t stop this little fetching fiend.  The day after her extractions, she greeted us at the door with a toy in her mouth!  This little girl lives & loves to play catch.  The higher the toy goes, the better.  Katie Scarlett/Katie Baby was with us the 2nd longest; right behind Toto, whom we fostered for 11 months before she was adopted (along with Charlie) by Georgia & Roman Benyk.  Katie is so very dear to our hearts and it was very difficult to let her go.  It was so bitter-sweet.  It’s comforting to know she’s still with a family who wants her & loves her, AND, that she’s still in the Valley!  We love you so much, Katie Baby!!!

Katie's Rescue story

Name:  Katie – Female – 6 years old
Fostered:  August 15, 2013
Adopted: Available

Katie was picked up off the street by a Good Samaritan in early Aug. 2013, who promptly posted her as FOUND:  on Craig’s List.  She was taken in August 15th by club members and is being fostered.  She was named Katie.
Katie is a miniature Eskie who LOVES & lives to play fetch.  She is 6 years old.  She walks well on a leash, rides well in a car, and is a good alert dog.  She is house-trained and uses a doggie door.  Katie does very well around children, especially if they will play with her.  She gets along well with other dogs, male & female.  We don’t know how she is around cats, but the Good Samaritan had cats, so we assume she is fine with them.
Katie is not a lap dog, though she only weighs about 15 pounds.  She had severe dental problems and had 21 teeth removed on August 28, 2013. She does eat the hard kibble & treats.
Katie is currently being fostered by the Arizona American Eskimo Association in Peoria, AZ, while she waits for her FOREVER home.   She is an absolute joy and is a talker.  Katie is active and needs an active lifestyle.
